11/3/09 08:35 pm - Milwaukee had Jeffrey Dahmer...And now we (in Cleveland) have Anthony Sowell.
Argh. Body count is up to ten and rising. And this is the part that really freaks me out: I just saw pictures of his house and it's identical to the house in a nightmare I had two years ago about a serial killer. Yeah, I really did not need that fun little touch. |

"this guy is sick, killing all these people! bury him/death penalty/execute him quick!"
i don't disagree, but there's a certain irony.

Gah. I'm WTFing hard. The local paper says the body count is up to 11. I suspect it's going to climb higher. I don't know which would be more horrifying, if all of these bodies are from after his 2005 release from prison (ie, all of them in less than a five year period) or if some of them predate him being shipped off to prison to begin with.
Yeah, there is no good here.

What's horrifying to me is that this is buried - I literally had to search out the news. Pretty Yale student goes missing, it's the top headline for a week. Ten+ disadvantaged black women murdered? Eh, put it on the back page. And these women were missing for a long time and was there any media coverage?
That's my thing about the death penalty - it doesn't rectify anything.. but I'm not necessarily against it. But at the same time I just believe there will always be serial killers. It's not a matter of fearing punishment, it's a matter of completely defective people - or if you're so inclined, pure evil.
This is one of my passionate topics - I almost went into profiling, sorry to go on and on..
